THAI clarifies dismissal (3)

yesterday issued a statement aimed at clarifying doubts over the removal of
Piyasvasti Amranand as president of the company, saying one of the reasons
for his termination was a disagreement between him and |the board over the
purchase of 12 aircraft.

Talking tough, civil aviation minister Ajit Singh on Friday told striking
Air India pilots that the airline may hire new pilots if they refuse to end
their agitation soon.
Singh, who agreed to meet a group of protesting pilots for the first time
since the strike began 18 days back, also
bluntly told them that the mounting losses due to the agitation may make it
difficult for the airline to pay the wage arrears to all employees by June
as promised.

record traffic during the Champions League final, the number of passenger
sarrived or departed being with 14,000 -17,000 higher than a typical day.
National Company Bucharest Airports recorded during 7-9 May, a total of
16,757 passenger arrivals on charter flights on the two airports to
participate in the Champions League final in 2012.
Bombay High Court disapproves of pilots strike (2)

agitation, the Bombay High Court on Friday asked the Indian Pilots Guild to
first comply with the Delhi High Court order restraining them from
continuing their "illegal strike" before sorting out the issues with the
management.
"You (IPG) may have problems but first comply with the Delhi High Court
order.
Escaped monkey delays Air China flight from NYC (3)

An escaped monkey delayed a Beijing-bound flight for four hours at New
York's JFK Airport on Thursday.
The monkey escaped its crate in the cargo hold of an Air China Boeing 747
scheduled to depart at 4:50pm, Port Authority police said.
Emergency services officers and an airport worker caught the monkey and
handed it over to the airline.
