Teachers raise fresh fears over troubled curriculum (11)
By Magnus Gardham
SNP efforts to fix Scotland's troubled new school curriculum were dismissed
as "superficial" by teachers' leaders yesterday.
The EIS, Scotland's biggest teaching union, hit out after a report from the
Government's Education Scotland quango claimed schools were on track to
deliver new exams.
The report said the National 4 and National 5 exams - to replace Standard
Grades - were "achieveable within the agreed timescale".

AROUND 1000 businesses could become food champions under a new scheme to
promote Scottish produce.
The project will recognise tourist firms such as hotels, B&Bs and visitor
attractions, that use fresh seasonal produce and promote where their food
comes from.
The Scottish Government is contributing £450,000 to the project and
tourism body VisitScotland is giving £470,000-worth of support in
kind.

FRESH calls for an inquiry into the Lockerbie bombing have been rejected by
the First Minister.
Only a court of law can determine guilt or innocence, Alex Salmond said
during First Minister's Questions at Holyrood.
He was urged by Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie to consider
an inquiry less than a week after the man convicted for the atrocity died
in Libya.
