DETROIT (AP) - Records show Detroit pastor and gospel singing icon Marvin
Winans‘ driver's license was suspended and there was a warrant out
for his arrest when he was carjacked last week.
The Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press report that the state suspended
Winans‘ license May 9 after he failed to pay two December traffic
tickets.

Phillip Phillips won American Idol on Wednesday, becoming the fifth male
singer in a row to take the title and a guaranteed recording contract.
The 21 year-old guitar player from Georgia, who brought an indie vibe to
the top-rated TV contest, beat ballad singer Jessica Sanchez, 16, of
California in the public vote.
