Millions gather in Istanbul for mass democracy rally (54)
Crowds began gathering in Istanbul on Sunday ahead of a cross-party Democracy and Martyrs' Rally called to protest the defeated July 15 coup launched by the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), Anadolu reported. Macedonia flash flooding kills over 20 (32)
Thunderstorm dumped an estimated 93 litres of rain for every square metre of the capital, Skopje. At least 21 people have been killed in flash flooding following torrential rain in the Macedonian capital Skopje on Saturday evening. During the rainstorm, which raged for five hours, Skopje saw approximately 93 litres of rain for every square metre, flooding some streets to a depth of several metres.

Belgian police shoot and kill man who attacked two female officers with machete while shouting ‘Allahu Akbar' (59)
The Associated Press CHARLEROI, Belgium - Belgian police say a man who shouted "Allahu Akbar" while he attacked two female officers with a machete has died after being shot by police. Police in the city Charleroi fist said the attacker was still alive after the attack in front of Charleroi police station.
