WASHINGTON, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) - The Trump administration violated the law by
withholding congressionally approved military aid to Ukraine last summer
"for a policy reason," the Government Accountability Office (GAO), a top
government watchdog, said Thursday.
The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) withheld some 214 million U.S.
dollars in funds appropriated by Congress to the Defense Department for

The Ukrainian government has opened an investigation into the possible
illegal surveillance of Marie Yovanovitch when she was US ambassador to
Kyiv, following the publication of messages about her between two
associates of Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

Turkey is beginning to send troops into Libya in support of the
internationally recognized government in Tripoli, President Tayyip Erdogan
said on Thursday, days before a summit in Berlin which will address the
Libyan conflict.
Speaking in Ankara, Erdogan added that Turkey will continue to use all
diplomatic and military means to ensure stability to its south, including
