Health authorities are expected to declare the African continent free of
wild polio.
The declaration would leave Pakistan and neighbouring Afghanistan as the
only countries thought to still have the virus, with vaccination efforts
against the highly infectious, water-borne disease complicated by
insecurity and attacks on health workers.

President Trump said Tuesday that he will nominate acting Homeland Security
Secretary Chad Wolf to the permanent post leading the agency.
"I am pleased to inform the American Public that Acting Secretary Chad Wolf
will be nominated to be the Secretary of Homeland Security.

The trial of Manchester United footballer Harry Maguire has started in
Greece following his arrest after a brawl last week on the island of
Mykonos.
Maguire, who was released from custody over the weekend, was not present at
the trial on the nearby island of Syros.

the 2020 Formula One calendar
Back-to-back double header in Bahrain, with the Bahrain Grand Prix on

Facebook blocks group that discusses Thai monarchy (34)

BANGKOK - Facebook has blocked in Thailand a group with more than a million
members that engages in open discussion about the Thai monarchy, an
institution that is staunchly protected from criticism by strict laws.
The Facebook group, "Royalist Marketplace," was blocked late Monday after
the social media giant bowed to pressure from the Thai government.
