The Bank of England is following in Canada's footsteps, switching from
traditional paper banknotes to polymer currency, starting in 2016.
Compared to cotton paper notes, polymer notes are cleaner, more durable and
have advanced security features to prevent counterfeiting, said Bank of
England governor Mark Carney on Wednesday.
