WASHINGTON WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The federal government will recognize same-sex marriages in Michigan while an appeal is pending in court, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said on Friday, guaranteeing the families relevant federal benefits. Holder's statement came two days after Michigan Governor Rick Snyder said same-sex couples would not receive state benefits of marriage until the matter is settled in court.
