Ramdin named as West Indies Test captain (11)

JOHN'S, Antigua and Barbuda: Denesh Ramdin was on Friday named as the new captain of West Indies' Test team in succession to Darren Sammy, who had been in charge since October 2010. Wicketkeeper/batsman Ramdin, 29, had already been understudy to Sammy, who retains the leadership of the Twenty20 squad. Ramdin has played 56 Tests in addition to 109 One-day internationals and 46 Twenty20 internationals.
