Barclays Fined lb26m Over Gold Fixing Attempts (17)

The latest scandal to tarnish the bank is over the attempted fixing of prices for the precious metal. Barclays Bank has been fined more than lb26m by the City watchdog over attempted gold price manipulation, it has been confirmed. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) said the bank failed to adequately manage conflicts of interest between itself and customers. It said failures occurred between 2004 and 2013.
