Former Dynamo Moscow forward Alex Ovechkin and Evgeni Malkin both scored to lead Russia to a 5-2 victory over Finland in the final of the ice hockey world championship on Sunday. This win sees Russia clinch its second title in three years and fifth gold since the 1991 breakup of the Soviet Union. Elsewhere, defending champion Sweden beat the Czech Republic 3-0 to complete the podium thanks to goals from Joakim Lindstrom, Simon Hjalmarsson and Mikael Backlund.
